Self-Standing Station Type B, made of:
Station Processor Unit - SPU
Depending upon specific requirements, two types of SPU are available:
Without local display
This type of SPU is mainly used for Self-Standing Stations type B and C, installed in remote locations of difficult access and/or where there is no power line available, to minimize the power consumption.
For maintenance purposes it is always possible to connect a service notebook to perform periodic checks or firmware upgrading.
With integrated touch-screen display
This type of SPU is used for Self-Standing Stations type B and C, whenever the power consumption is not an issue and where an easier and faster access is preferred.
This SPU is based on a 6.5" industrial grade integrated processor and touch-screen terminal.
Power supply / Battery charger, featuring:
  • Charging 12 V AGM batteries with high rate current
  • Charging from AC and solar PV panel
  • Maximum power point tracking (MPPT)
  • Power output with battery protection
  • Actual status display with backlight
  • SDI-12 and RS-232 communication interfaces
  • Operating currents, voltages and coulomb counting measurements
  • Overload, overvoltage and reverse polarity resistant with notifications    
Battery, AGM technology [Absorbed Glass Mat]
AGM Batteries are lighter than the flooded lead-acid type, extremely resistant to vibration, totally sealed, non-spillable and maintenance-free.
Solar Panel BlueSolar Monocrystalline, featuring:

Outdoor housing
It consists of a suitable cabinet for outdoor operation, passivated Aluminum, painted with epoxy-polyester powder-coated metal finish or marine grade white, to be properly fixed to the Stand. Ingress Protection, IP68. An ABLOY lock is provided with 2 keys for cabinet security.
Stand
A stand is used for the installation of the AGDM Gamma Dose Rate Monitor, and its sub-systems including solar panel, in-built rechargeable batteries and Data Modem.


Detection Units

It is possible to configure the Station with any combination of up to three different Gamma Detection Units:

Wide Range Ambient gamma dose rate monitor AGDM-Wr®

Ultra Wide Range Ambient gamma dose rate monitor AGDM-UWr®

Ambient gamma spectroscopic monitor AreaSpec®    

Integrated Weather Station

Where a full Weather Station is needed instead of a simple Rain Sensor, the Vaisala integrated WXT536 Weather Station is the ideal solution. It measures pressure, temperature, humidity, rain, wind speed, and wind direction.

The WXT530 Series utilise the unique Vaisala solid state sensor technology:

Wind measurement:  Vaisala WINDCAP ultrasonic wind sensors
are applied to determine horizontal wind speed and direction.

Precipitation:   Vaisala RAINCAP unique acoustic sensor measures the impact of individual raindrops on a smooth stainless steel surface using a piezoelectric detector. The
sensor provides
real time data on rain intensity, duration,
and total rainfall.
                                
Barometric pressure, temperature, and humidity measurements are combined in the PTU module, using capacitive measurement for each parameter.
