Highlights
Floating Station Type D, made of:
Station Processor Unit - SPU, without local display
For maintenance purposes it is always possible to connect a service notebook to perform periodic checks or firmware upgrading.
Power supply / Battery charger, featuring:
  • Charging 12 V AGM batteries with high rate current
  • Charging from solar PV panels and AC for maintenance, i.e. in a dry dock
  • SDI-12 and RS-232 communication interfaces
  • Operating currents, voltages and coulomb counting measurements
Battery, AGM technology [Absorbed Glass Mat]
AGM Batteries are lighter than the flooded lead-acid type, extremely resistant to vibration, totally sealed, non-spillable and maintenance-free.
Solar Panels BlueSolar Monocrystalline, featuring:
  • Low voltage-temperature coefficient enhances high-temperature operation.
  • Exceptional low-light performance and sensitivity to light across the entire solar spectrum.
  • 25-Year limited warranty on power output and performance.
  • 5-Year limited warranty on materials and workmanship.
  • Highest quality tempered glass provides enhanced stiffness and impact resistance.
Buoy, featuring:
Steel Core: buoy is designed for long life operation and has a steel core manufactured from grade 43A mild steel complete with 2 lifting pad eyes (with test certificates upon request) and 4 mooring eyes attached to the steel skirt ( 2 mooring points in operation & 2 spare). Finish, hot dipped galvanised after manufacture to BS EN ISO 1461-1999.
Float Collars: 2 parts rotationally moulded specially formulated extra high UV stabilised virgin polyethylene, foam filled with marine grade safety approved close-cell foam. These collars can be replaced either individually or as a pair if damaged through a collision this operation can be carried out without removing the buoy from its mooring.
Service Exchange Tower (S.E.T.): Rotationally moulded specially formulated extra high UV stabilized virgin polyethylene. Lantern: Sealite SLC310 or equivalent, Lantern Bracket in 316 stainless steel.
Radar reflector: Echomax 230 radar reflector or equivalent installed in Service Exchange Tower.
Anti-Static Wire: All main body components earthed together to remove static electricity.
Sensor Data Tube / Moon Pool: Poly tube of up to 168 mm diameter welded through the float collar at 45 degrees from the mooring points for deployment of WaterSpec monitor into the water clear of the mooring system.

Detection Units

It is possible to configure the Station with any combination of up to three different Gamma Detection Units:

Wide Range Ambient gamma dose rate monitor AGDM-Wr®

Ultra Wide Range Ambient gamma dose rate monitor AGDM-UWr®

Water gamma spectroscopic monitor WaterSpec®

Integrated Weather Station

Where a full Weather Station is needed instead of a simple Rain Sensor, the Vaisala integrated WXT536 Weather Station is the ideal solution. It measures pressure, temperature, humidity, rain, wind speed, and wind direction.

The WXT530 Series utilise the unique Vaisala solid state sensor technology:

Wind measurement:  Vaisala WINDCAP ultrasonic wind sensors
are applied to determine horizontal wind speed and direction.

Precipitation:   Vaisala RAINCAP unique acoustic sensor measures the impact of individual raindrops on a smooth stainless steel surface using a piezoelectric detector. The
sensor provides
real time data on rain intensity, duration,
and total rainfall.

Barometric pressure, temperature, and humidity measurements are combined in the PTU module, using capacitive measurement for each parameter.
